Choosing your art

The single biggest factor in how your cover looks is the file you upload. A few things to keep in mind:

• Resolution. Bigger is better. Art meant for a small screen will look soft when stretched across a 150 cm cover.
• Orientation. Body pillow art is tall and narrow, so a portrait image works best. Wide crops leave gaps.
• Rights. Use art you made or commissioned, or that the artist cleared for printing. Please respect the people who draw this stuff.

Picking a size

My sizes run from 34x100 cm up to 60x180 cm. The 50x150 cm size is the classic dakimakura shape and the one most art is drawn for, so if you are unsure, start there. Go smaller for a compact pillow that fits a couch, or larger if you want a full life-size feel. Make sure your art has enough height to fill the size you pick.

Peachskin or 2way fabric

This is the choice people overthink, so here is the plain version:

• Peachskin. A smooth, matte fabric with a soft feel and strong, consistent color. It is durable, budget-friendly, and a great default.
• 2way. A stretchier knit that is softer and more elastic. Colors read slightly richer and it has a plusher hand. It costs a bit more.

If you want the safe everyday pick, go peachskin. If you want the softest, most premium feel and do not mind paying for it, go 2way.
