What fabric are dakimakura made of?
Most custom dakimakura are printed on one of two polyester fabrics: peach skin, a smooth brushed microfiber with a matte finish, or 2-way tricot, a silky knit that stretches in both directions. I print both at 300 DPI with wash-safe inks.
Which is better: peach skin or 2-way tricot?
Neither is objectively better. Peach skin is matte, rugged, and costs less; 2-way tricot is softer, stretchier, and feels more premium. For a first pillow or a gift, pick peach skin. For a pillow you will hug every night, tricot is worth the upgrade.
Is 2-way tricot worth the extra cost?
If the pillow will be in your arms daily, yes: the silky feel and the way it stretches snug around the insert are what people upgrade for. If it is mostly decorative or a first try, peach skin prints the same art just as vividly for less.
Can I machine wash both fabrics?
